MISSION:

The Special Student Services Department will provide a quality education and supplemental services for students’ individual needs.

PURPOSE:

The purpose of SSS is to supplement the general education efforts by adapting and modifying curriculum and instruction to meet the individual needs of students with disabilities.

VALUES:

The SSS Department values learning-centered education, organizational and personal learning, agility, management by fact, and valuing faculty, staff, and partners.

GOALS:

• Meet Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for Reading
• Meet AYP for Math
• Develop IEP by third birthday for 100% of children transitioning from Part C (early childhood agency) to Part B (SSS preschool)
• Meet state target for graduation on the standard pathway
• Develop meaningful course of study (ages 14-21)
• Mirror percentage of Caucasian and Hispanic students meeting eligibility as Other Health Impaired to total district population percentages.
