Special Student Services offers educational and related services through qualified staff members that are licensed and trained in the area for which they are employed. Summer school and Extended School Year (ESY) services are also provided at no cost to the student or family. Supplemental services provided in the students’ home languages (such as American Sign Language or Spanish) are:

Special services are delivered in a continuum of offerings based on the individual needs of each student. This continuum, called SERVICE LEVEL, is:
Minimal: modifications not exceeding 10% of the school day/week (Service Level 1)
Moderate: modifications more than 10%, but less than 50% of the school day/week in the most inclusive environment appropriate (Service Level 2)
Extensive: modifications at least 50% of the school day/week in the most inclusive environment appropriate (Service Level 3)
Majority: modifications nearing a full day/week to achieve the student’s goals (Service Level 4)
Alternative Programming: services provided off the school grounds - in jails, homes, or alternative education programs
Preschool: programming provided to students ages 3-5 (who turn 3 during the school year and do not turn 5 by September 1)
